Free-Flow Adjustable Venturi Mount for Aircraft Engine
THIS DESIGN OFFERS A FREE-FLOW VENTURI EFFECT. THE PROP AIRFLOW DEFLECTION PROBLEM CAUSED BY CONVENTIONAL PLYWOOD BOX CONSTRUCTION CREATES CAVITATION, AND THE ADDED LOAD REDUCES ENGINE PERFORMANCE BY AS MUCH AS 20%.
This fully adjustable motor mount gives the versatility of linear movement by eliminating firewall plywood box buildup. The larger mounts (for DA, BME, or 80 through 240 cc engines) not only allow linear movement, but also allow vertical adjustment.
How to Use: For down and side thrust in the field, trim adjustments are made simply by loosening allen head screws (1/4-20) from the back side of the universal mounting plate and inserting angular shims provided by D&R Industries as an option. Spot glue the back support yoke assembly. After center line adjustment, drill clearance holes for 1/2-inch diameter standoff supports. Whn proper clearance is obtained, tighten 4 screws (8/32) located on the back support yoke.
Model Aircraft Motor Mount
This unique design saves the builder from having to build a plywood extension from the fire wall to the critical prop-to-cowl fit. The design gives you full linear adjustment from the firewall for prop clearance, as well as onsite full adjustment to side and down thrust for trim changes.
